How to minimize ironing your bed sheets

· · · Comments
Firstly, do not overload the washing machine. If washing a king bed sheets or queen bed sheet sets just wash one set at a time including pillowcases. Use a front loader where possible as they are gentler on fabrics. Wash them in the permanent press cycle as generally it uses a cold rinse cycle and a slower spin cycle. When wash is complete shake out the sheets and smooth over the top panel of the top sheet using a flat hand over a flat surface. Repeat with the pillowcases.
LINE DRY:
Hang on the line folded in half width ways and as smooth as possible. Hang pillowcases by the bottom corners. Remove from line as soon as they are dry.
If you need to do any ironing, use the shortcut and iron the top metre of the top sheet and the pillowcases.
DRYER:
Dry them on a medium or low setting, not the hottest. Midway through drying, pull each sheet out and shake out again. Do not over dry. As soon as they are dry, set dryer on a cool setting. Remove one sheet at a time, leaving the remainder on the cool dryer spinning cycle. Smooth and fold the sheet. Or put straight onto the bed. Then repeat with the remaining sheet and pillowcases. Again, if you need to do any ironing, use the shortcut and iron the top metre of the top sheet and the pillowcases.
Lastly, go and have a nice cup of tea and lament the time saved in all that ironing!
